So, lately I have been playing the Destiny beta on Playstation 3, and for the most part I love the game. I love the blend of FPS and RPG, the story seems interesting (having a level cap of 8 kinda restricts the story). The game feels like a Halo game, which makes sense because it is made by Bungie, and it is the first MMO that I actually feel like perfect for consoles.
But, there is one major problem that I have with the game: there is no way to view the map in game. Let me give some further details: After you finish all the story missions, you get the opportunity to explore the entire map, and go everywhere, it is really nice and great for open world exploration. But, the only time you get to view the map is when you select your destination in the transition menu. What this game needs is a way to view the map while in exploration mode. This is really relevant when I was hunting the golden crates and needing to get to the Forgotten Shores, but couldn't find it, so I had to back out of the exploration mode and back into a story mission in the proper area where I would go past the proper areas anyway. If they could add a map in the menu when you press start, or when you press select, the exploration mode would be so much better.
Might update when the game actually releases. If you actually follow this blog, the last post was from June 2013, so you can see how often I actually update
